As more attention is drawn to the virtual Metaverse, this GARP article shared possible opportunities for risk managers, from credit risk, and market risk to cyber risk.

Crypto-backed card

Nexo and MasterCard launched a card

that allows spending up to 90% of the fiat value of their crypto assets.


Even though several cards provide crypto as rewards already,

The Nexo Mastercard is the first payment card secured by crypto.


Bitcoin-backed loan

Goldman Sachs starts to offer bitcoin-backed loans.


This type of lending has mainly been offered by crypto exchanges.

Now we have a major regulated bank offering crypto lending.
