🇨🇦 🧑🤝🧑 🏘️ Population, Housing, and A Trivia Question.
Statistics Canada posted a question - most got it wrong.
❓What is the % of land used for cities in Canada❓
Answer at the end of the post.
Latest census result:
From 2016 to 2021,
Canadian population grows +1.8 million.
The +5.2% rate tops G7 countries.
However, not enough housing.
Based on a Jan BILD report,
New housing needs to increase 30% per year
For the populous Greater Toronto Area and Hamilton.
This week, the Ontario housing task force
Called for 1.5 million new housing in the next 10 years.
Currently, the province is 1.2 million short of G7 average.
The direction is clear.
The real question is:
How can you build that fast?
Answer to the trivia question:
Even if you feel crowded more than ever,
Canadian cities still only occupy < 1% of the land.
